i just might be crazy...

i did it. i just signed up for a half marathon. what you have to know is running is not my exercise of choice. i would rather walk (i walk faster than i run) or lift weights or do some kind of circuit training. then why sign up for a half marathon? because i'm not doing any of those things i'd rather do. if i have a goal, something i have to work toward i'll do it. so the provo city half marathon is my motivation. the date is more than five months away. that will give me time to train for a 5k and 10k i need to do before this 13.1 mile race rolls around. i am asking for all the running advice anyone can share; socks, music, sports bras, shoes, training and nutrition tips. i will welcome anything, give it to me. even if it's from your cousin's boyfriend's next door neighbors sister.

waiting.

i have lived in paradise for the past two winters. really, i have. the sunny days may have been short but they were glorious. needless to say i'm a little nervous about living in slc this year. i'm thinking s.a.d.... but i'm feeling like i'm in a great place. i am really trying to live in the moment and live outside (while the air is still fresh) as much as possible. i have a great support system both in and out of my house and i'm loving life and myself. so should i be waiting for the dread of the season? nope. i'll report again in january or february but then i'll probably make a quick escape to san diego if the sneaky "sad" trickles in.

I Don't Like Meat

But...I love it when Nick makes Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches. I don't like or order Philly sandwiches at any restaurant nor do I attempt to make them myself. Maybe I like them because it takes me back to Naples when I was working crazy hours and didn't have much time to cook let alone eat. During that time in Florida I would wake up at 8:30PM just in time to get ready to go to work, usually only functioning on 4-6 hours of sleep for days on end. Nick would make/or buy dinner and do dishes too. Anyway! Nick perfected a Philly sandwich recipe and he made them last night. I was in heaven, lots of onions and peppers cooked with roast beef and plenty of provolone cheese on delicious bolillo bread.

(pictures are coming, I'm trying to configure my phone and computer)

The Beginning

I have had a blog for several years but I really don't post. So I want to start fresh with a new blog all about me and my thoughts. This blog will be course. It will not have proper grammar or punctuation. If that bothers you please do not comment and give me tips on how to correct my language, I don't care that much.
The title of this blog comes from the crux of my life right now...a wart. I have had this wart for 3+ years. What have I done to obliterate this wart? I have tried apple cider vinegar, cutting it off myself, lots of sunlight, burning it from the inside with a strait pen, a wart whisperer, rubbing it with a potato and burying the potato outside, OTC everything, duct tape and the latest try was actual "major" surgery that I was anesthetized for (okay so it was only for about 10 minutes). I went to the dermatologist today about a non-wart related issue, a post for another day. He asked about the scar on my foot and I told him I had surgery to remove a wart and there was just some scar tissue. He then informed me that it was in fact not scar tissue but the WART WAS COMING BACK!
I'm sure everyone has a cure. My grandma told me to take Vitamin A and E together and that would get rid of the virus. I haven't thus far but I am about to use my next paycheck to buy Vitamin World out of A and E. If you have thoughts and ideas I'm more than willing to try them (obviously from the attempts above I'm not opposed to anything).
